A/L English Literature – Across the Mongolo by John Nkemngong Nkengasong

I am Ekane Kingsley. I have been teaching English Language and Literature in English since 2007 and I have been teaching sign language since 2006. I have been preparing the Ordinary and Advanced level students to write their end of year exams.

This video you are about to watch contains the background to the text- both the historical background and the author’s background of Across the Mongols by John Nkemngong Nkengasong. You are also going to see the textual analysis of the text – ie chapter by chapter analysis. Take note, I said analysis, not narration. At the A/L we analyze, we don’t narrate. Any attempt to narrate will earn you a fail mark.

Course Objectives

At the end of this program, you should be able to

1. Handle A/L English Language prescribed texts and A/L Literature in English.
2. Handle MCQs based on the text.
3. Understand the author’s objectives, background etc
4. Discrimination between the techniques of A/L literature. Understand fully the aspects of A/L literature such as; style, themes, characters, setting, plot, structure.
