Mathematical Proofs are sequences of mathematical sentences with the intention of justifying a mathematical statement. The last sentence of a mathematical proof is usually the targeted result ( The objective). Basically there are five Types of mathematical proofs as we shall discuss subsequently. This lesson is essentially destined to Advanced Level candidates.
At the end of this lesson, Students should be able to
– Identify the mathematical statements to be proven as to whether it is a simple statement, a conditional statement or a bi-conditional statement and then proceed to use any of the five types of proof to verify the identified statement accordingly.
